TIRANA, March 28 – Albanian capital Tirana last Saturday also joined the ”Earth Hour” initiative launched by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) that was respected in scores of cities worldwide.
Lights were switched off between 8.30 and 9.30 pm on Saturday 28 March, as part of a world-wide campaign to raise awareness about global warming ahead of the United Nations Climate Change Conference in December 2009 in Copenhagen.
That was partly difficult in Tirana due to the World Cup qualifying against Hungary but it was generally respected otherwise.
