Eastern European growth boosts UNIQA profits

VIENNA, Jan. 26 – Austrian insurer UNIQA Group reported a consolidated pre-tax profit of approximately 340 million Euros, an increase of 43 percent from the previous year, due in part to growth in its Eastern European business.
UNIQA’s companies in Eastern and South-Eastern Europe increased their premium volumes by 25.6 percent, reaching approximately 803 million Euros.
