Economic day on Albania held in Munich

TIRANA, March 23 – Albania is intensifying efforts to attract the international capital in the country. The government has turned the economic interest as a main point of its diplomacy in order to attract foreign direct investment.
Following that Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Edmond Haxhinasto on Tuesday took part at the “Economic Day on Albania” forum held in Munich, Germany. The title of the forum was also for Albania as a growing trade and investment market, a very difficult job in these days of global economic crisis but an indispensable one for the tiny Balkan country trying to become a developed one in 2017, according to the government strategy.
Haxhinasto spoke about the country’s economic developments lately, its favorable business environment, the government steps and the regulatory and fiscal measures that would welcome any foreign investment.
The minister said that Albania was a “stable country, with an established performance of its institutions, laws and their enforcement.” He also said that Tirana had proved itself as a factor of peace and stability in the Balkans.
Haxhinasto also praised the German and Bavarian economic support in the last post-communist two decades as very considerable and efficient with projects in key areas such as energy, water, agriculture, infrastructure and more.
