TIRANA, Jan 20 – The High Council of Justice has selected eight appeals court judges who are to form the Electoral College in charge of solving legal problems during the June general elections.
The college was sworn in Tuesday in front of the country’s president, who also heads the HCJ.
The college is to be responsible for complaints from different political parties regarding election results.
President Bamir Topi said that the elections would be the “most important in the new democratic period in Albania to bring to an end, once and for all, to the transition period.”
“It is of an extraordinary importance that the elections be held in a calm atmosphere and serve the citizens,” he said.
