Energy connection line with Italy approved

TIRANA, July 27 – Government approved on Wednesday the construction of interconnection lines with Italy, a decision which Prime Minster Sali Berisha described of strategic importance for Albania’s energy market. The commercial interconnection will connect Kallmet, Lezhe to Italy’s Zapponeta/Manfredonia. “The interconnection lines with Italy have a strategic importance in the project, Albania a energy superpower in the region,” said Berisha, adding that the decision gains more importance at a time when Italy said no its recent referendum to build nucreal ppower plants. He also announced Albania would soon inaugurate the interconnection line with Montengro and start building new interconnection lines with Kosovo and Macedona.
