Environmental concerns put civic alliance in protest

VLORA, March.26 – The Civic Alliance for the Protection of the Vlora Bay (CAPVB) has organized a protest against the building of the thermo power central. Concerned citizens were gathered in the city’s central square to consider the latest decision to grant Petrolifera company the right t build a 18.00 hectares energy plant fueled by oil and natural gas. CAPVB head Gani Mezini said that the plant will ruin the natural beauty of the Vlora region, upon which tourism is based. The well-know analyst Fatos Lubonja, expressed an opinion related t the controversial nature of politics which does not really take into consideration the citizens interests. He added that the project if realized will be barbaric act against the beautiful nature of Vlora and against its people.
