Environmentalists protest the project of hydropower unit in Bushat

SHKODRA, April.11- members of the association for Environmental Protection and Water Reserves in Shkodra have required the government to reexamine the project for the hydro power unit to be built in Bushat. Ex Shkodra Mayor and now head of the Association, Filip Guraziu said to the media that opposition to this project has started five years ago on the account that the plan does not take into consideration the social problems and the environmental problems of the area.
The Association wants a new plan that does not deviate the natural flaw of river Drin towards the Shkodra Lake, respecting thus the natural equilibrium of the area that I also its attraction as far as tourism potential is concerned. The association hags found an interesting way to make a claim upon the government, they threaten to organize a wide scale.
