TIRANA, June 7 – “Eternal Love,” a lyrical drama written by Albania’s Mihal Luarasi will bring at the National Theatre veteran actress Drita Pelingu who is successfully concluding her 65-year acting career. Pelingu, 85, will perform the lead role in the play specially dedicated to her by Mihal Luarasi who is also directing the part. Loneliness of the elderly people after the migration of their children is the central theme of the play, very common in nowadays Albania. “We remained lonely, everybody is fleeing children, nephews, nieces as if this beautiful country was cursed,” says Pelinku in her performance. “Of course it is difficult but I love my role so much that I don’t feel the difficulty. I feel this role so close, in my family circle, friends and I am happy to close my career with a work by Luarasi,” says Pelingu. The play will have its premiere on Friday, June 8, and continue with two other performances on June 9 and 10 at 20.00 at the National Theatre in Tirana.
