Euromax sold to Delta Maxi

TIRANA, Aug 11 – Delta Holdingճ retail unit, Delta Maxi, has acquired Albaniaճ Euromax, reports say. The contract has still not been verified by the Albanian anti-monopoly bodies, according to the Albanian media.
Euromax exports and imports mostly foodstuffs and has a retail chain of 17 shops in Tirana, Durres, Elbasan and Fier.
The company opened the first hypermarket in Albania in 2005.
Delta Maxi has long announced plans to expand in the region, and is now spreading to Albania after opening in Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Bulgaria. The company, a part of Serbiaճ largest private enterprise, plans to open stores in Croatia, Moldova, Romania, Ukraine and Macedonia by 2012. (Tirana Times Staff)
