TIRANA, Feb. 19 – A severe car crash in the Shkodra-Velipoja highway caused the death of a father and his two children, while the mother and family’s oldest daughter have been hospitalized, but are clinically dead.
The Preka family was driving an Alfa Romeo vehicle when crashing with a SUV with two passengers in a road segment a few kilometers away from Velipoja’s beach notorious for causing accidents especially during the summer, as vehicles reportedly trespass speed limits.
The SUV passengers were wounded but are reportedly out of danger, while the family’s mother and older daughter are being clinically kept alive in Shkodra’s hospital, where they were taken for treatment.
Police forces and a group of experts are investigating the facts surrounding the accident.
