TIRANA, May 9 – “Fernando Krapp wrote me this letter,” a contemporary play by Germany’s Tankred Dorst made its premiere this week at the newly established Theatre of Comedy in Tirana. Staged by a group of young directors and actors, the play is considered a courageous undertaking by the young actors.
After staging in Tirana from May 10 to 13, the play will also appear in eight other Albanian towns until May 30.
Fernando Krapp, an obscenely wealthy megalomaniac, decides to wed the most beautiful girl in town. He treats it as a foregone conclusion that she will marry him as he is Fernando Krapp and one can’t help but love him if he decides it’s so.
