TIRANA, July 1 – Tourists to the southern towns of Saranda and Gjirokastra will be accompanied by the second edition of the open-air Dea film festival in early July.

The southernmost town of Saranda, which boasts Ionian coastline of rocky and sandy beaches and Gjirokastra, a UNESCO World Heritage site, will be the hosts of this year’s festival scheduled to be held from July 4 to 10.

The festival targets turning Saranda and Gjirokastra, which lack cinemas, into centers of meetings for cineastes and producers.

The festival, which also targets promoting tourism in these areas, will also showcase a summer academy with young cineastes and a section dedicated to Albanian movies.
