Fishermen to be compensated for their oil

TIRANA, March. 12- The Council of Ministers approved a subsidy scheme that compensates oil at 80 percent of the value of sold fish and penalizes abusers with a ban of three years from compensations. The decisions addresses the protest of fishermen from all the ports of the country and their request for the government to subsidize the price of oil for their trade. Fishermen announced that their meeting with Minister of the Environment, Lufter Xhuveli had not been successful because they have not accepted his proposal to subsidize the fishermen for the purchased oil at market price only after a period of three months.(Tirana Times Staff)
