TIRANA, Jan 21 – Three fishermen have been labeled as lost after their small boat was battered by the high waves on the Adriatic Sea.
Albanian and Montenegrin authorities launched a rescue operation for them, as they are believed to be in Montenegrin waters.
A police statement Wednesday said it was believed the boat could be between Montenegro and Croatia.
Italian rescue planes and other forces were also involved in the operation.
Authorities received an SOS on Monday from the boat. The spouse of one of the fishermen also told police in the southwestern city port of Vlora her husband had left on Sunday.
The boat had left the port town of Vlora on Sunday. Albanian authorities have asked different police and specialized army troops and neighboring countries to help in the rescue mission.
