Francophone day celebrated in Tirana

TIRANA, March 20 – Albanian Foreign Ministry held Tuesday a ceremony to celebrate the international day of francophone with the participation of many diplomats and Albanian personalities. Minister Besnik Mustafaj spoke about promoting political and cultural francophone values in the country. Albania became a full member of the International Organization of Francophone in September 2006. The minister spoke about the country’s participation and activities promoting that culture. Albania has also ratified a Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the multicity of the cultural expressions which serves as a prerogative for compiling national strategies and policies in favor of any cultural product. Mustafaj also announced the launch of the Year of the Cultural Diversity that is to be followed with a full set of activities in the country and abroad.
