French senators visit Albania

TIRANA, March 12 – A group of French senators held a visit to Albania this week to meet with top leaders. President Alfred Moisiu hailed the very good relations existing between the two countries and urged them to increase commercial exchange and French investment in our country. Moisiu presented to them the executive’s efforts and reforms to reach the European Union required standards. Kosova was the other topic of interest on which Moisiu spoke about the support to Marti Ahtisaari’s plan for its future status hoping there would be no more delays. French senators also met with parliament Speaker Jozefina Topalli which considered their visit as a good push to increase relations which have always been very good.
Head of the French delegation Senator Bernard Fournier guaranteed to the Albania senior officials his country’s full support toward its road of integration into the European Union.
