TIRANA, Sept.5 – Bank of Albania (BoA) governor Ardian Fullani has not hidden his interest to run for a second term of office in the country’s central bank. Asked by reporters during his latest press conference, Fullani, whose seven-year mandate expires next October, expressed his readiness to serve for a second term. “Every man wants to take his challenges to an end. Our regular and open communication makes us more optimistic of taking our challenges to the end,” said Fullani. However, the BoA governor’s election is expected to be a tough decision as relations between President Bamir Topi, who has the right to nominate the candidate, and Prime Minister Sali Berisha have been deteriorating. Local media report, current Finance Minister Ridvan Bode is a possible candidate for the BoA governor post.
