Three love stories for Saint Valentines Day
Three different stories, within which there are an amalgamation of love, passion, betrayal and tragedy, all come together in the one story. But this time for love. On Wednesday evening, on the occasion of the celebration to love, the Theatre International theatrical company organized a gala concert in collaboration with the National Opera and Ballet Theatre. At this concert, “Romeo and Juliet” were interpreted, “the 10 commandments of Moisiu” and “Notre Dame de Paris.” The concert created its image by merging the modern with the classical. The musical production was entrusted to composer Endri Sina, while the artists who interpreted live were Sidrit Bejleri, Vikena Kamenica, Ogert Islami and the well known Alban Skenderaj, Jonida Maliqi, Alma Bekteshi and others. During January last year the company, Theatre International” staged the first musical at the Opera and Ballet Theatre entitled, “Centuries and love,” which included a mix of “The 10 Commandments of Moisiu” and the Notre Dame de Paris. The same company staged another musical in Tirana but at the larger stage of the Palace of Congresses, “Romeo and Juliet”. This musical was produced by Gjergj Xhuvani and well known names of the Albanian Opera performed.
Prima Ballerina tries her hand at choreography
Enada Hoxha, prima ballerina of the National Opera and Ballet Theatre has long since been trying her hand at choreography too. She first began with the musical, “Centuries and Love” and later on with “Romeo and Juliet.” These days too she can be found spending her time between the Opera and Ballet Theatre stage working for the Gala concert or also working on another performance to be staged at the Ballet Theatre soon. “I will continue my work as a ballet dancer, because this is the passion of my life, but I have always liked choreography too,” Enada said. Thanks to the experience I have as a ballerina and the work I have done with the choreographer Agron Aliaj or foreign choreographers I have managed to learn a great deal. But I am still a long way from being a fully fledged choreographer,” she said.
