Gen. Clark visits Albania

TIRANA, April 26 – Gen. Wesley Clark who headed NATO troops during the Kosova war in 1999 visited Albania to meet with top officials and participate at a Bankers Petroleum ceremony later Thursday. Clark met with President Alfred Moisiu who expressed gratitude to him and the United States for their overall assitance to Albania’s development and democratic consolidation. Moisiu also told Clark about the country’s serious and intensive efforts to achieve the required standards to become a full NATO member next year. Moisiu and Clark also spoke about Kosovo status and its progress sharing the same opinion, according to the presidential press office. Clark expressed his good words on the country’s developments since 2000 when he had last visited it. Clark stressed that Albania is one of the best allies of the U.S. and both countries would continue cooperation in the future.
Clark is the honored guest of the marketing activities that Bankers Petroleum Albania Ltd. (Bankers Albania) organzied Thursday. Clark is economic adviser to the company.
