TIRANA, Sept. 21 – “Climate-Energy-Change” will be the motto of this year’s celebrations of the fifth edition of the German October in Albania.
“Climate change and renewable energy remain on the daily agenda at a global level, not only since the earthquake that hit Japan or the accident caused by it in the Fukushima nuclear power plant. According to some studies by the World Bank in 2009 and 2010, Albania is one of the most unprotected countries in the region; the effects of the climate change have already started being noticed because in the last 15 years average temperatures have raised, rainfall has dropped while extreme weather events have grown. Meanwhile, Albania’s administrative capacity to handle these events is small if we refer to World Bank studies,” says Carola M
