TIRANA, June – Why We Took the Car (Tschick) is coming as a premiere in Albania as a play based on Wolfgang Herrndorf novel.
Directed by Stefan Neugebauer, the play will make its Albania premiere on June 10 and also show another couple of times on June 12 and 13 at the Kujtim Spahivogli experimental theatre in Tirana.
Albania’s Florind Belliu, Edvin Mustafa, Ilirda Bejleri are starring in this play.
Tschick is otherwise known as Andrej Tschichatschow, a Russian-born, ethnic German teenager who lives in Berlin’s Marzahn district. One day he and Maik Klingenberg, a classmate who suffers from affluent neglect, take off in a stolen Lada. Without a real plan or sense of direction, they go on a wild journey around eastern Germany.
