TIRANA, Oct. 21 – On Wednesday, 20 October the final part of the 6th Giffoni-Albania got on the way at Cinema Millennium in Tirana, organizers said. The event rounded off the series of cultural and cinema events organized by the GFF from May to September in Albania – in the cities of Saranda, Vlora, Durres, Shkodra and Lezha – involving over 5000 children. The final part of Giffoni-Albania took place in Tirana from 20 to 23 October. The programme, presented in a press conference at the Sheraton Hotel, was followed by the screening of the best productions of the last Giffoni Film Festival annuals.
The films in competition were “The Crocodiles Strike Back” by Christian Ditter (awarded for best film for the section Elements+10 at 40th GFF annual), “Karla & Jonas,” by Danish director Charlotte Sachs Bostrup, “No Hard Feelings” by Yves Hanchar, “The Round Up,” by Roselyne Bosch (Audience Award at 40th GFF), “Aurelie Laflamme’s Diary” by Christian Laurence and “Gangs,” by Rainer Matsutani.
The films were screened and judged by secondary junior and high school students of Tirana and by an international jury made up of the likes of jurors from Italy, Serbia, Macedonia, Kosovo and Montenegro. Insights on the films followed the screenings.
On 23 October at 6.00 p.m. the final night show will take place at the Opera Theatre, during which the best film will be awarded.
