TIRANA, March 18 – Tirana city hall, the Ministry of Environment and the Armed Forces of Albania seem to be the two most dedicated institutions trying to add green areas to the country.
Tirana Mayor Edi Rama, also leader of the opposition Socialist Party, has publicly appeared almost every week for planting new trees.
On Wednesday he claimed they had planted more than 1,500 trees this winter making the capital a safer place to breathe in.
The Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Environment used about 100 military soldiers to plant 550 trees in Durres.
In the last two months armed forces have planted about 3000 trees in Shkodra, Tirana, Durres, Pogradec, and Elbasan.
