TIRANA – Zorba, a ballet in two acts by Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis will be the last premiere at the National Theatre of Opera Ballet for this season.
The ballet will have its premiere on Friday, June 25 at 17.00 to continue with other performances on June 26, 28, 29 and 30.
The ballet which has achieved international success is brought by choreographer Arjan Sukniqi. Two well known Albanian ballet dancers who have been living in Greece for the past two decades, Altin Koruti and Bledi Latifi, will star in the ballet which closes the season at the Opera House.
The ballet is about contradiction between civilizations. It is performed against the background of grand ruins of pagan Greece with a Christian temple standing among them.
