TIRANA, Aug 3- Two people were killed and three others injured by an explosion believed to have been caused by a hand grenade which ripped through a home in northern Albania.

The blast in Kukes killed a 26-year-old man and one of his daughters. The man’s wife, mother and another daughter were injured and are in serious condition, the local media reported.

It was unclear whether the blast was an accident or linked to a blood feud that media reports said the family was involved in.

Albania has been awash with illegal weapons and explosive ordinance after the failed pyramid investment schemes in 1997 sent crowds of people looting army depots and forcing the government to cease functioning for several days.
