TIRANA, April 12 – Deputy Foreign Minister Edith Harxhi made a working visit to Bosnia-Herzegovina invited by her counterpart Ana Trisic Babic to talk on bilateral ties, the regional situation and also European prospects for both their countries.
During her stay in Sarajevo, Harxhi also met with Foreign Minister Sven Alkalaj.
During the talks, they covered issues of bilateral cooperation with the emphasis laid on the intensification of economic cooperation and exchanges at all levels.
They also exchanged views and ideas on the performance of the Euro-Atlantic integration efforts for Bosnia-Herzegovina and the visa liberalization process with the EU for both countries.
Both Tirana and Sarajevo are expecting the European Union to decide on the visa-free regime for their citizens this summer.
Both countries were not included with the other western Balkan ones last year — Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia — to have that regime due to the lack of some of the technical details set from the European Union.
The two countries say they have already fulfilled those requests and now wait for the positive answer and application of the visa-free regime for their citizens.
They did also talk on the current developments and prospects in Bosnia-Herzegovina and in the region as well.
Harxhi also met with the High Representative and the EU Special Envoy in Bosnia-Herzegovina Valentin Inzko and the U.S. Ambassador in Sarajevo Charles English.
