TIRANA, July.9- To ease traffic congestion in high-tourist areas, a ban on large trucks during certain hours has been put in place for the duration of the summer tourist season. Minister of Transportation, Sokol Olldashi, and the Minister of Internal Affairs have signed a memo limiting large trucks to certain hours on main tourist roads. All vehicles above 3.5 tons will be barred from travel from 8 am to 10 pm until August 31. This rule will affect vehicles traveling on the following roads:

Shkod철- Velipoj뻠Shkod철- Lezh렭 Milot – Fush롋ruj렭 Vor렭 Durr쳻 Durr쳠- Rrogozhin렭 Lushnj렭 Fier – Vlor뻠Vlor렭 Himar렭 Sarand렭 Butrint. The general directory of roads was asked to prepare all necessary road signs and post them in order to communicate the temporary ban to drivers. This measure requires the mayors and head of regional authorities to comply as well with special directives for their areas.

The decision is expected to alleviate traffic and improve travel on the key tourist roads in Albania.
