TIRANA, Nov. 20 – Famous Hungarian Hodworks dance company staged in Tirana this week their uncommon Dawn production where the naked human body takes the center stage. In a performance on Nov. 18 at the National Art Gallery as part of the Albanian Dance Meeting Festival, the Hungarian dance company, amazed the public with their creation of movement.
“The naked body is dressed in sketches of muscles, the kneading of skin, the remains of contact, the reddening of skin. What presents itself is a forgotten anatomical, mechanical, machine-like condition, an ‘animal character’ of the body, something that is stiffed and taboo in today’s reality,” the dance company says.
Dawn has been selected into 2014 Priority Companies by Aerowaves and won the Rudolf Laban Award as the most outstanding dance performance of the 2013 season in Hungary.
Hodworks was founded by choreographer Adrienn H
