President Bamir Topi urged German businesses to invest in Albania during an official visit to Germany to this week. He also met his counterpart and German business representatives.
During the visit, Topi said German investors would find the best fiscal and taxation regulations available and great resources for such a small country.
He said Albania offered good opportunities in its economy, trade and tourism, telecommunication, infrastructure, energy and aviation.
Topi was accompanied by Foreign Minister Ilir Meta, Constitutional Court head Vladimir Kristo, head of the Science Academy Gudar Beqiraj, other senior officials and lawmakers and also a group of businessmen.

A German Albanian forum was held during his visit.
Speaking to the forum Topi spoke about fundamental changes made in Albania in the last two decades, especially the facilitation of the fiscal and legislative spheres and the reforms in other areas.
He also hailed Germany as the biggest donor to Albania “giving its big support in the long process of democratic and European transformation Albania has already undergone.
In an interview with Deutche Welle Topi also urged Albania’s main political parties to end their squabbling and continue the required reforms along the country’s process of integration into the European Union.
“I believe it is important and the political parties will understand the importance of strengthening the (country’s) image,” he said.
He also said that for the moment he did not see any mediation role for his institution in ending the political fight.
