TIRANA, Nov. 26 – The Institute of Statistics said Monday that Albania’s volume index of turnover on retail trade in the third quarter resulted in 247.7 percent against (1999=100). Comparing the value of the volume index of turnover in the third quarter with the same quarter of previous year, it has increased 14.5 percent. If we compare this quarter with the previous quarter it increased 8.7 percent.
In the group “Household Equipment,” the volume index in the third quarter has increased 18.2 percent compared with the previous quarter.
In the group “No- specialized store with food, beverages, tobacco,” the volume index of turnover in third quarter 2007 increased by three percent, compared with the previous month. In September, the index of volume in this group decreased by 5.6 percent compared with August.
In the group, “Books, newspaper, stationary in specialized store,” the volume index in September 2007 increased 14.7 percent compared with August 2007.
In the group “Total sale and repair of motor vehicles,” the volume index increased 15.4 percent compared with the same quarter of previous year.
Inside “Total sale and repair of motor vehicles” in the group “Retail sale of automotive fuel” the volume index of turnover in August 2007 increased by 10.4 percent compared to July 2007.
The employment index on “Retail trade” in the third quarter resulted in 149 percent against (1999=100), an increase of 23.1 per cent compared with the same period in the previous year.
In “Sale and repair of motor vehicles” the index rose 282 percent against (1999=100) with an increase 29.4 percent over the same period in the previous year.
