TIRANA, Nov 17 – A group of 200 intellectual personalities in the country made public their support to the hunger strike of ten lawmakers asking the smaller political parties are not excluded from the electoral commissions.
The open letter signed by 200 professors, journalists, artists, and other personalities sent the letter to the president, parliament speaker, prime minister, opposition Socialist leader and US, EU and OSCE ambassadors.
They wrote they support the hunger strike so that smaller political parties are also included as partners in the new electoral code compilation.
They asked the institutions they sent the letter to be committed in finding a solution to the political crisis and especially the two leading political parties _ governing Democratic Party and main opposition Socialist Part _ to be responsible because a free and fair voting is their obligation and not a privilege.
They also asked the international community to be clear in treating this crisis.
