TIRANA, July 19 – Hot weather in the last week has blanketed the entire country with temperatures averaging more than 35 degrees.

Hot weather, and the accompanying decrease in river water, has also intensified the crisis in the power and water supplies in the country.

The government acknowledged it can do nothing more to find energy in the regional market and has cut power in many placed from 5 to 14 hours per day.

Water shortages have been greatly affected by the ongoing hot weather. Water is available in most of the country, including the capital, Tirana, for only two to four hours per day.
