TIRANA, April 3 – The Delegation of the European Commission in Albania and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy organized Tuesday an international conference on the role of the quality infrastructure in the economic development of the Western Balkans countries and their integration with the EU. The conference marks the progress of the Albanian quality infrastructure as a result of 2.5 million worth of technical assistance to support standards, certification, accreditation and metrology in Albania:
– A metrology strategy plan has been drafted with objectives, activities and business plan to be realized in order to raise and make effective the national system of metrology;
– The number of the Albanian companies certified to the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 standards has increased from 12 to 40.
