TIRANA, April 26 – Albania’s political crisis, prompted by the decision of most opposition parties to not participate in parliament and elections, deepened this week, after talks between political parties mediated by two European parliamentarians failed. David McAllister, chairman of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs, and Knut Fleckenstein, the European Parliament’s rapporteur on Albania, tried hard on Tuesday to bring political parties into an agreement, but were unable to reach an agreement between the opposition and ruling parties.
