TIRANA, Feb. 23 – Italian cello maestro Roberto Trainini will be performing in Tirana in a concert accompanied by the symphonic orchestra of the Albania’s public broadcaster, the RTSH, which will be conducted by Albania’s Ermir Krantja.
The concert, scheduled for Friday. Feb. 24 at the Academy of Arts in Tirana, will bring Roberto Trainini performing parts by Schuman and Maurice Ravel in an event organized by the Italian Cultural Institute in Tirana and the symphonic orchestra of the RTSH.
As a chamber musician, Roberto Trainini, 36, has been a member of the Salzburger Solisten, a chamber music group that performs from duo to octet, all around the world with renewed artists as David Geringas, Karl Leister, Charles Neidich, Kolija Blacher, Joerg Demus, Jeremy Menuhin, Vladimir Mendelssohn, and many others.
Prizewinner of several international cello competitions (IV prize in Markneukirchen Int. Wettbewerb 2001, I prize Elise Meyer, Hamburg 2001, special prize in Arturo Bonucci, Rome 2003, finalist and IV place in Belgrade 2005), Trainini often collaborates with the Russian composer Sofia Gubaidulina (duo for violin and cello, Sonnengesang for cello and ensemble).
He plays a cello Stadlmann 1780 ca. Vienna, and he is a founding member of the Hamburger Streichsextett.
