TIRANA, April 16 – A cinema exhibition featuring some of the best Italian movies of the 1950-1970 period is being displayed in Tirana as part of events held by the Italian embassy.
The “Italian views” exhibition was inaugurated at the premises of the National Museum of History in a ceremony attended by Italian Ambassador to Albania Saba D’Elia and renowned Italian director Lina Wertmuller, whose film opened the event.
Eight films will be screened until April 27 in the Italian cinema exhibition. The exhibition portrays the historical and social conditions of Italy from 1950 to 1970 when the Italian society underwent radical revolution.
Ambassador D’Elia said the idea of the series of movies was to show the similarity between the two countries, such as migration which was also massive for southern Italians.
Meanwhile, another photo exhibition featuring Albania-Italian cooperation is being displayed at the National Museum of History. The exhibition features pictures by Albanian photographer Roland Tasho on the projects the Italian Development cooperation has implemented in Albania during the past 20 years.
Both exhibitions are being staged in the frame of the “Italy, Albania,Two Peoples, One Sea, One Friendship” season of events.
