TIRANA, Feb. 25 – Italian police have cracked down on a criminal organization made up of mostly Albanians who were thought to be involved in cocaine smuggling in the Netherlands. Twelve Albanians and an Italian were arrested in Ferrara during an investigation and codenamed Vortice 1. The investigation had shown that their money from drug deals was likely invested in businesses in Albania. Seven other persons are still wanted by officials.
