TIRANA, March 11 – Italian Spring ” Italy and Albania 2010 – Two Peoples, One Sea, One Friendship” was a ceremony held at the residence of the Italian Ambassador Saba D’Elia in Albania.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ilir Meta was present at the largest event of promotional nature in the relations between our two countries.
That was initiated by the Italian government to highlight and foster the potentials of cooperation between the two countries in several primary areas and domains, like economy, energy, infrastructure, transports, culture and civil society.
D’Elia laid emphasis on the brilliant relations between the two countries, which are clearly testified by the latest visit by Prime Minister Sali Berisha in Italy and the visit of the Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini in Tirana.
The ambassador also pointed out the traditional cultural and friendly bonds between our two peoples, which constitute a strong bridge in these relations. He considered this project open to ideas and initiatives and on this occasion and invited all Albanian and Italian entities to take an active part in the realization of intense events during this season.
Meta thanked the Italian Government for this initiative, which through the wide-ranging spectrum of conferences and debates of economic, integration and development nature shall witness the primary strategic political and economic partnership with the neighbor and friendly Italy.
