TIRANA, May 14 – The Albanian Education Ministry expects that some 3,000 places in Italian universities will be open to Albanian students during the next school year.
Out of 35,000 students from non-EU countries, Albania may get 3,000 places, according to the ministry.
Thousands of Albanian students have attended Italian universities during the post-communist period since 1990.
Students must first pass an Italian language test and then they must qualify for the educational specialty they are applying for.
Neighboring Italy has been Albania’s main trading partner and donor country.
