TIRANA, March 10 – The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe office in Albania and the School of Magistrates, in co-operation with the High Council of Justice and the High Court, organized two seminars on judicial ethics in Tirana.
Judges from Tirana and southern Albania took part in seminars, which focused on the importance of ethical behavior in maintaining judicial independence and the role of judges in ensuring fair and impartial decision-making through effective courtroom management, clear and complete reasoning and an appropriate judicial demeanor.
The seminars also aimed to foster discussion on more effective enforcement of the judicial ethics code. The training was conducted by Ad魥 Kent, a judge from Calgary, Canada, who has served as a member of the Conduct Committee of the Canadian Judicial Institute and was responsible for ethics instruction programmes for the Canadian judiciary. A similar seminar was held in Shkodra for the judges of the courts in northern Albania. (Tirana Times Staff)
