SOFIA, Feb. 25 – Bulgarian Foreign Minister Ivailo Kalfin said Monday that senior government officials from Serbia and Kosova were due to attend a meeting of Balkan foreign ministers in Sofia later this week, including Albanian Foreign Minister Lulzim Basha. “Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic has confirmed his participation,” Foreign Minister Ivailo Kalfin said. “It is still not clear which official from Kosovo will attend the meeting.” It would be the first time representatives from Serbia and Kosovo would be seen together since the province’s ethnic Albanian leadership declared independence on February 17. The meeting on Thursday and Friday will be part of the Southeast European Cooperation Process, or SEECP. Kalfin said organizers were still working on the format of the meeting given the “heightened sensitivity” over the Kosovo issue.
