TIRANA, Sept. 17 – Nude paintings dominate in an exhibition renowned Kosovo painter Xhevdet Spahija has opened in Tirana at the National History Museum in Tirana. A veteran painter from Kosovo, Spahija has participated in dozens of collective and personal exhibitions around the world. His exhibition in Tirana will remain open from September 17 to 24.
“The paintings of Xhevdet Spahija convincingly stand in front of the aesthetic beauty of the figurative in the composition of the gigantic space. We can notice the rather unified movement of allurement, action and figurative performance in the canvass where we observe not only the colour but can also the clash of the form in the interweaving of space with the perspective harmony and tonality,” says critic Ilir Muharremi in his message to the exhibition in Tirana.
His acts are characterized by realism, composition and stand at different positions lying, moving, sitting, standing in erotic and alluring positions. The colours such as blue, grey, the red, yellow push the harmonic melody which creates the colourful and conceptual cosmos. Through his works the artist obviously tells us that the starting point of every work is love but tragedy, drama and loyalty are also present,” the critic says
