TIRANA, Feb. 13 – Renowned Kosovar sculptor, Destan Gashi, who has been living and working for many years Austria, has opened his newest exhibition in Vienna.
In this exhibition, Gashi displayed 11 of his small-sized sculptures. In Gashi’s crafts, the woman is the dominant artistic figure. The material he has used is mostly marble. “In his artwork, Gashi gave life to the stone, a dead material,” stated at the solemn opening, Christa Wenkoff, the director of the venue where this exhibition was opened.
The fans of Gashi’s sculptures will be able to view his sculptures in the premises of “Paulus Apotheke” in Vienna, a venue which is known for artistic activities, a place where Barbara Gashi, Destan’s wife, had also earlier displayed her artwork.
This exhibition of sculptures has been open since Jan. 26 and will run until February 23, 2012. Sculptor Gashi’s greatest desire for the future is and remains to open an exhibition in Kosovo and Albania as well.
