Leart Gjoni, convicted in murder, extradited from Britain

TIRANA, July 23 – Leart Gjoni, sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for a murder, was extradited from London last weekend.

Gjoni had been sentenced by the Kavaja court for the murder of Admir Murataj along with three other persons.

The four of them had used masks and stopped Murataj’s car. They first shot Murataj and then stole his portfolio and some 550 Deutsche marks. Murtaj was an immigrant living in Germany at the time of his murder.

Gjoni and the other men also hit Murataj’s father and tied him up. Murataj died before taken to the hospital.
