TIRANA, March 3 – The Interior Ministry met with local authorities last week to discuss ways to prevent the planting of drugs in their areas.
Fighting drugs is a top priority for the government and a precondition for the country’s integration efforts into NATO and the European Union. Authorities claim they are going to eliminate the planting of cannabis sativa within Albania.
However, international reports continue to note that Albania is a main country of origin for the growing of cannabis.
