TIRANA, Nov. 4 – The association of Albanian businessmen, Alb-Konfindustria, has harshly criticized the government for not keeping its pledge to apply the one euro a day policy for local businesses. The businessmen complained that the government has delayed for five months the decision to apply the one euro policy for the technological water they use, according to a statement.
The businessmen said that has caused significant financial loss to them.
Businessmen have said they pay hundreds of thousands of leks more than their counterparts in European Union member countries. They also said, as an example, in Italy a businessman pays a maximum 900 Euros per year for the use of water, while they pay up to 100,000 Euros a year. This has caused the increased risk of bankruptcy for local businesses, the statement said, adding that also has caused higher prices and costs for the common consumers.
