TIRANA, Feb 11 – Luxembourg becomes the last NATO member country to ratify Albania’s membership protocol for the alliance.
Following Slovenia, which temporarily turned into a problem due to some concerns with Croatia, also seeking NATO membership together with Albania, Luxembourg added itself to the number of countries giving the green light to both countries before the April summit when they hope to get full membership.
Albania hailed Luxembourg and considers it as another support for Albania’s euro-Atlantic integration processes and values the excellent ties between the two countries.
There are four other alliance members that should ratify the protocol, hopefully within the next month.
The foreign ministry said they had received assurances that in the next weeks the process will have come to a close.
