The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Macedonia has asked its citizens to avoid visiting Greece or spending holidays in the neighboring country (Lajm, 16.04.2009). Urban violence, rioting and insecure situations are evoked as major concerns. Urban violence in Greece has affected Macedonian citizens transiting in the neighboring country, say the reports.
The temporary discommendation of Greece as a touristic destination, might potentially arouse interest in the Adriatic coast, with possible benefits for Albania, Montenegro and Croatia.
