TIRANA, Feb.13-The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Consumer Protection as well as the competitiveness authority are going to perform thorough checks at all stages of the bread production process in order to identify features of informality and abuses that might have led to the current price situation. A detailed report will be prepared to suggest potential policies to address the problem. The agriculture experts so far have said that the increase in the price of bread cannot be linked to any real market factor which has hinted to the possibility that the market is distorted by cartels.
