TIRANA, Nov. 22 – Montenegrin Foreign Minister, Milan Rocen, visited Albania on Thursday trying to intensify or deepen bilateral ties between the neighboring countries.

Albanian Foreign Minister Lulzim Basha said that bilateral ties between Albania and Montenegro serve the progressive spirit and stability of the region.

The two ministers discussed possible joint projects in tourist infrastructure, the Shkodra Lake environment, possible agreement on railway and naval links and transport, energy, telecommunication, education, agriculture and, of course, fighting organized crime and illegal trafficking.

The two ministers also discussed Kosova, each expressing their stand. While Albania is openly in favor of Kosova’s independence, Podgorica is more cautious following the international community’s stand of being impartial for the moment.

The two countries also signed a protocol of cooperation between the two ministries.
